Aquarium Guide

The aquarium is the reason Fishing Wars is not just a boat deathmatch. You catch fish, you bring them home, you store them, and they print money while you plan the next trip. Steak built a walk-in tank so you can swim up to the collection. That is flavor. The collect pad is the job.

If you skip this page you will over-invest in guns and wonder why pirates still bankrupt you. Idle cash from a smart tank funds upgrade order automatically. Guns only protect the trips that feed the tank.

Walk-in tank

After the first drop-off you can enter the aquarium and look at fish as if you were scuba diving in your own HUD. Steak showed this twice across leaks because chat called the dock boring. It is a showcase and a trophy room, not a second ocean. You do not farm inside the glass. You farm outside, then curate inside.

Use the swim-up view to check which pieces you actually like. If two commons take slots that a legendary could occupy, you will feel it when you look them in the eye.

Collect pad

Fish in the tank generate money. Step on the collect pad every time you dock. The leak makes this a punchline because players forget. There is no excuse after the first hour.

Pad habits:

  • Collect before you spawn the boat, not only after.
  • Collect after Joe upgrades, in case the new level was waiting on a tick.
  • If you died at sea, you still have pad cash. Walk there before you rage-buy a turret.

The pad is why AFK on the dock with a full tank has some value — but public servers will still make your parked boat a target. AFK in a private moment, or just take short trips.

What to display

Launch week has no official complete dex. Use rarity bands from how to fish and the fish tier list:

  • Keep legendaries, named myths (Loch Ness class), and anything that makes the tank look expensive when you swim in.
  • Cycle commons the moment a better rarity lands. The tutorial fish is not a personality.
  • Never keep a full grid of the same common hoping quantity beats quality. Joe’s upgrades expand slots; fill new slots with better fish, not more trash.

If two fish occupy the same visual niche, keep the rarer one. Flex is also a filter.

Joe’s aquarium levels

Fisherman Joe sells aquarium upgrades in the leak once you have pad money. Level 2 is the first celebration beat in Steak’s video. Higher levels mean more slots and, in this genre, more idle. Buy them before boat cosmetics.

Joe is also the tutorial. You will walk past him fifty times. Make it a ritual: pad, Joe, boat. The players who stall are the ones who only talk to Joe when they are already broke.

Aquarium vs combat

A max-looking tank with a paper boat will still lose legendaries on the drive home. A max turret with an empty tank will still be poor. The healthy ratio in week one is tank slightly ahead of guns. That way every successful extract compounds.

When PvP starts deleting your trips, do not sell the tank idea. Buy boat health and a turret so the tank keeps getting fed.

Visiting and flex

You can look at your own fish. Whether other players can tour your tank the way some simulators allow is still settling in live patches. Do not assume a visitor tax exists. Assume the flex is for you and for anyone standing on your dock.

  • Getting started — first drop-off.
  • Upgrade order — when to stop buying levels and start buying speed.
  • How to fish — what is allowed to enter the glass.
  • Codes — if a gift is a fish or a slot, it belongs here, not in the ocean.

Treat the aquarium as a factory. Pretty fish are the machines. The pad is the loading dock. Joe is the foreman. Everything else is logistics with guns.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How does the aquarium make money?

Stored fish generate cash. Step on the collect pad at the dock to pick it up. Do this every docking.

Can I swim inside the aquarium?

Yes. Steak built a walk-in view so you can swim up to displayed fish. It is a showcase, not a farming zone.

Should I keep every fish I catch?

No. Cycle commons for legendaries and named myths. Slots are the upgrade you are paying Joe for.

Who upgrades the aquarium?

Fisherman Joe on the dock. Buy levels before cosmetic boat parts. See upgrade order.
