Fishing Wars Boat Tier List
Which hulls and attachments actually finish a trip.
Boats are half the combat fantasy and all of your extract. This list ranks roles, not a finished shop catalog. Launch art and leaks show orange fan-hovercraft, wooden gunboats, turret kits, and first-person deck guns. Shop rows will grow. The stats will not: speed, health, cargo, gun.
Use boats and PvP for tactics. Use upgrade order for spend order. Use this page when two hulls are on the water and you need to know who wins.
S tier — extract machines
Armed fast hull. Speed enough to leave a marker under fire, health enough to eat a pirate volley, turret mounted. This is the boat that makes legendaries count. If the shop has a named version, buy the stats, not the paint.
Hovercraft with a working gun. Official thumbnails put orange fan-craft over the Kraken. They look stable and shoot straight. If the live handling matches the poster, this silhouette is S for fights on open water.
A tier — honest workhorses
Starter hull after speed + health + turret. You do not need the expensive shop row to play the game. Upgrading the tutorial boat into a gunboat is how most players hit level 15 in community runs.
Wooden deck gunboat. Slower postcard energy, strong if the machine gun tracking is kind. Worse at running, better at standing on a marker and daring people. A-tier on defense, B if you insist on running loot across the whole map.
B tier — specialists
Naked fast boat. Wins the commute, loses the pirate check. Fine for dock-adjacent mythical spots while you save for a turret. Not fine for Kraken water.
High health, no speed. You will survive the first burst and then die slowly while everyone else extracts. Only useful if you are camping a tile as bait.
C tier — dock toys
Unupgraded starter. Tutorial only. Joe did not intend this hull for deep water. Two pirate shots and you are swimming.
Cosmetic skins with default stats. They photograph well. They do not add cargo. Buy after the tank is online.
D tier — decisions, not hulls
AFK parked on a marker. The boat might be S. The player is D. You are a crate.
Dock camping with a turret. Cheap, trains the server, wastes the ocean. Ranked D because it makes your session worse even if you “win.”
Attachment ranks
| Attachment | Rank | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Turret / deck gun | S | Pirates, players, sharks, Kraken |
| Speed upgrade | S | Extracts and marker hopping |
| Health upgrade | A | Required the first time you bleed |
| Extra cargo if it exists | A | Legendary insurance |
| Pure cosmetics | C | After the factory works |
If the live shop adds harpoons, depth charges, or extra seats, they will slot in here after we sit in them. We will not rank a railgun that only exists in a comment section.
Matchups
- Hovercraft vs wooden gunboat: hovercraft wins if it kites. Gunboat wins if the hovercraft sits still to cast.
- Armed vs naked: armed wins unless the naked boat is already on the dock pad.
- Player vs pirate NPC: treat as equal DPS until you have won both. If pirates kill you, players will too.
Buying advice
Do not save 40 minutes for a mystery S-tier hull while your current boat has empty upgrade sliders. Fill speed, health, turret. Then window-shop. The aquarium prints the coins. The boat only has to not die on the way to feed it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the best boat in Fishing Wars?
The best live option is a fast hull with health and a turret. Named shop rows will be added here as they appear.
Should I buy a new boat or upgrade the starter?
Upgrade speed, health, and a turret first. A new hull is a luxury until those sliders are honest.
Do hovercraft beat wooden boats?
Usually on open water if they keep moving. Wooden decks win standing fights. See boats and PvP.
Is a turret worth it?
Yes. Tutorial pirates already shoot. Deep water is worse.
