Getting Started in Fishing Wars
From the dock tutorial to your first armed boat trip, without wasting early coins.
Fishing Wars drops you on a small dock with an aquarium and a suspiciously friendly NPC. YouTuber Steak’s August leak is still the cleanest tutorial recording: Fisherman Joe in the corner, a boat spawn prompt, a mythical marker on the water, pirates mid-cast, then a drop-off that levels the tank. This guide turns that footage into a first-hour plan for the live Roblox [RELEASE] place.
If you have not clicked Play yet, the official experience is Fishing Wars on Roblox. Servers hold eight players. Avatars morph to R6. Favorite the game and join BIG GIANT FOOD while the queue pops — those two clicks are how most Roblox fishing games unlock the first codes.
Minute zero: the dock
You spawn facing the water. Your aquarium sits beside you. You can walk into the tank later and swim up to displayed fish; for now, stay on the boards. Find Fisherman Joe. Steak joked that Joe may be secretly evil. Treat him as both tutorial and upgrade vendor. He teaches the loop and later sells aquarium levels.
Do not sprint into the ocean on foot. You need a boat. Joe’s line in the leak is simple: get a boat, hit spawn, spawn your boat.
First boat
Starter hulls in launch art include orange hovercraft with a rear fan and wooden boats with deck guns. Whatever you get, spawn it, board it, and look at three stats before you leave:
- Speed — how fast you reach mythical spots and how fast you flee pirates.
- Health — how many shark bites or turret hits you survive.
- Cargo / boat space — community speedruns to level 15 keep repeating this. A full boat of junk fish is a failed trip.
If the boat has a turret hardpoint, remember it for the ride home. You probably cannot afford the gun yet. That is fine. Your first trip should be short.
First fishing trip
Drive toward the marker Joe calls out. In the leak, something big sits on a mythical spot. That is your classroom, not your endgame. Cast, land anything that bites, and watch the water. Pirates can spawn while you are still proud of a common catch. Steak’s own demo gets jumped mid-cast and has to shoot the pirate ship before the drop-off.
Rules for trip one:
- Do not chase every splash. Boat space is the real resource.
- If pirates or a shark appear and you have no turret, turn toward the dock. A live common fish in the tank beats a legendary you dropped on the sea floor.
- Music in the leak is high-energy on purpose. The game wants you moving, not AFK bobbing.
A longer breakdown of spots, legendary targeting, and abort calls lives in how to fish. Controls and HUD sit in how to play.
Drop-off and the collect pad
Drive back. Unload at the drop-off Joe indicated. Watch the aquarium level animation — Steak called it one of the best feelings in the build. Fish you keep sit in the tank and make money. Step on the collect pad to vacuum that idle cash.
This is the whole economy:
Catch → store or cycle → idle cash → Joe upgrades → better boat → farther water → rarer catch.
If you skip the pad, you will think the game is stingy. It is not. You are leaving coins on the floor.
What to buy first
Talk to Joe again. Aquarium level two is the first real purchase in the leak. Boat speed and boat health are the other early sliders. Do not buy a flashy attachment until the tank is printing. The upgrade order tool is the short version:
- Aquarium level (more slots, more idle).
- Boat speed (more trips per hour).
- Boat health (you start dying to sharks).
- Turret (you start dying to people).
A first-hour player with a level 2 tank and a fast naked boat will out-earn a first-hour player with a turret and an empty tank.
First-hour checklist
- Finish Joe’s tutorial without skipping the pad.
- Complete two short mythical-spot trips and make it home both times.
- Collect idle cash at least once.
- Buy one aquarium level.
- Peek inside the tank so you know the swim-up view exists.
- Bookmark codes and Discord.
- Only then look at boat PvP and Kraken.
What this game is not
Steak spent a full leak stream killing rumors. Fishing Wars is not a brainrot stealing tycoon. Other players fight you on boats; they are not supposed to yoink display pets from a base the way Steal a Brainrot works. If someone is deleting your hull, that is PvP, not a plot steal. Armor the boat instead of hiding in a corner.
After the tutorial
Read aquarium so you stop keeping the wrong fish. Rank targets on the fish tier list. When you can afford a gun, boats and PvP explains how not to donate your legendary to the nearest hovercraft. Steak’s leak video sits in the middle of this page so you can match Joe’s dock to the live map after the coral redesign.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Who is Fisherman Joe?
The tutorial NPC on the dock. He teaches boat spawn and later sells aquarium levels. Steak hinted he might be secretly evil.
Can I walk into my aquarium?
Yes. After you store fish you can enter the tank and swim up to them. It is a showcase, not a second fishing biome.
What should I upgrade first?
Aquarium level, then boat speed, then health, then a turret. Details are on upgrade order.
Is Fishing Wars a stealing game?
Steak said no. Combat is boat fights over cargo and space, not a brainrot-style base steal.
